Members and guests enjoyed a pleasant evening at the Hillarys Yacht Club for the annual changeover to welcome the club's new president Laurie Glossop and the 2017-18 board. PP Bruce Fielding was MC for the evening and did a great job as usual.

Members enjoyed a delicious dinner accompanied by a few bottles of wine provided by the club and the opportunity to purchase drinks over the bar once the wine had run out.

Club stalwart and a man who is very active in other areas of the community including Ride for Youth, Bruce Fielding was recognised for his contributions by being awarded a Paul Haris Fellow. Bruce has been a member of the club for 15 years and has served in many roles including as president for two years. A well deserved recognition for his contributions to the club and the greater community.

Past president David Fisher handed over the chain of office to incoming president Laurie Glossop and wished him well for the coming year.

• Treasurer - Michael Lee
• Fundraising - Jane O'Leary
• Membership and president nominee - Byron Williamson
• Club Service - Judy Dinnison
• Community, Youth, Vocational and Rotary Foundation - Geoff Ross
• Webmaster - Laurie Dender

Dinner was followed by the traditional roast of the outgoing president. Geoff Ross did a great job roasting David. This is always a highlight of the club's changeover.

Thanks to Laurie, Mary and Byron for organising such an enjoyable evening and best wishes to Laurie as president of the club.

Our club will join other Rotary clubs around the world in living up to this year's theme - Rotary: Making a Difference.
