Rotary District WA| Camp Opportunity |
This week Robyn Penny from the Northbridge Rotary Club came to talk about Camp Opportunity. Camp Opportunity is scheduled for January 21, 2018, when around 15 disabled adults (between 18 and 35) will be matched with an able bodied buddy to enjoy a fun live-in camp at the Point Walter Recreational Centre. If previous camps are anything to go by participants soon find they can overcome their fears and grow in confidence through the many experiences on offer at the camp. These include: archery, flying fox, water sports, talent show and masquerade dinner. |
Many Rotary clubs get involved and Robyn is seeking further support this year and keen for our help. Opportunities to help include: finding buddies that qualify (between 18 and 35), volunteering to assist with activities, or through financial support ($800 per attendee). Nominations for both campers and buddies close on October 31, 2017. |
